'Bad Play' a 'fun' choice for QHS drama club
Cast members of the Quincy High School Drama Club’s production “All I Really Need to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Play” ham it up during their curtain call. The players are Mitchell Karstetter (from left), West Lybbert, Jenna Arnall, Luke Grigg and Hanah Allen.
Anyone who has watched or participated in a bad play will probably relate to Quincy High School Drama Club’s production of “All I Really Need to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Play.”
Shows are today through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Quincy High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door.
The comedy, written by Werner Treschmann, pokes fun at some of the problems that plague theater productions, from technical difficulties, to distracted and neurotic cast and crew members, to over-acting bit players.

Name something that makes a play bad and it is in this play. Which means audience members will actually have a chance to laugh at the mistakes rather than cringe.
“It’s a fun play,” said drama club advisor and director Tracy Higgins. “We have plenty of students involved in the play this year and they are having a good time.”
Cast members include Michael Ren as the Narrator, Mitchell Karstetter as Flapjack, Marisol Lopez as the Director, Dayanna Lopez as the Director’s Inner Voice, Tiffany Yeates as Actor/Terry, Janna Hodges as Actor’s Inner Voice, Megan Slager as Francis, Luis Sorto as Romeo, Madison Petersen as Juliet, Laura Becerra as the Counselor, Ian Huxtable as Bill, West Lybbert as Tybalt, Jenna Arnall as Samantha, Hanah Allen as Kelly, Luke Grigg as the Warmup Coach, Monica Berndt as Kay, Baldo Valdovinos as the Usher, Ken Hardiman and Austin Foglesong as lights and sound.
