Barbara Lee (Hutchison) Dipprey
Barbara Lee (Hutchison) Dipprey, 69, of George, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at River West Assisted Living, surrounded by her family and friends, following a courageous battle with lung disease.
Barbara was born Jan. 8, 1941 in Wilder, Idaho to Lowell and Dorothy (Peterson) Hutchison. She graduated from Quincy High School and continued her education at business school. Barbara moved to and worked in Idaho following her schooling. She returned to Quincy and worked at NBC Bank, where she met her husband, Ken Dipprey. They were married on May 24, 1968. Barbara worked part-time jobs while she and Ken raised two daughters and returned to work full time in the mid '80s in George, where she managed the Colonial Market and was the George Postmaster. Barbara was a member of the Eastern Star. In her healthy years, Barb and Ken enjoyed dancing and playing cards with friends. Later she enjoyed being outside, bird watching, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ken; two daughters, Debbie (Kent) Pearsons of East Wenatchee and Sandi (Brian) Tunis of Renton; her grandchildren Hannah and Katie Tunis of Renton and Jake, Kyle and Kaylee Pearsons of East Wenatchee; her brother, Bill (Barbara) Hutchison of Alexandria, La. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Jeril Hansen, Lori Rix and the staff at River West. Also to hospice employees Lyn, Trisha, Gail and Trish and special caregivers Willow, Kara and Rose, who made her last month as comfortable as possible.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel, 300 G St. SE in Quincy at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Concluding services and interment will follow at the Quincy Valley Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Moose Lodge in Quincy.
The family suggests that memorial donations can be made to Central Washington Home Health & Hospice or to River West Assisted Living.
Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy is in charge of arrangements.
