Doyle Hodge
Doyle J. Hodge, 86, of Caldwell, Idaho, went to meet the Lord on Jan. 4, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Doyle was the oldest of nine children, born Sept. 12, 1923, to Fred and Alta Hodge at Ava, Mo. He moved with his family to Wilder, Idaho, in 1940. He joined the U.S. Army in December of 1943 and was honorably discharged Feb. 15, 1946.
Doyle married Wilma D. Wilson in 1946 and had two sons, Mike and Gary, of whom he was very proud. Doyle owned a service station and tire store in downtown Caldwell for years and was an active member of the community.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, and the Caldwell Elk’s Lodge, where he served many years on the Home Association. Doyle retired in 1985, but went back to work in 1989 driving truck into the beet factory and worked until he was 83 years old.

He remarried in 1985 to Wilma Lee Crews and they loved to travel and camp with the kids and grandkids.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Wilma Lee Hodge of Caldwell, Idaho; two sons, Mike (Marie) Hodge of Eagle, Idaho and Gary Hodge of Cascade, Idaho; also Wilma Lee’s children Lynett Vinson (David) of Prairie Grove, Ark., Steven (Patricia) Pannell of Natural Dam, Ark., and Deborah (Don) Cline of Caldwell, Idaho; siblings, Ernie (LeeNora) Hodge of Fruitland, Idaho, Shirley Blood of Caldwell, Idaho, Pat (Cliff) Looney of Vale, Ore.; the mother of his children, Wilma D. of Boise, Idaho; 31 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Delbert, Fred Jr., Bill and Bob; and his sister, Wanda.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, Idaho. Burial was at the Wilder Cemetery in Idaho.
