It’s great that the city is doing work to fix our streets, as well as sewer and water systems.
But many people are wondering if these projects could be timed a little better, especially those around school property.
Last spring, the only street that provided easy access to Monument Elementary School was torn up for several weeks. Now the same street is torn up again this fall.

Also this fall, the portion of 6th Avenue in front of the high school has been torn up for weeks and the main access point to the school has been blocked.
Of course, there are plenty of good reasons why the work couldn’t be done in the summer. So laying all the blame on the city’s feet is unfair.
But it is fair to ask the city to try to schedule any future projects of this kind when school is not in session.

That would be a good idea to schedule all of the construction stuff during the summer or when school is not in session. It is a big hassle to get to school everyday and may bother the construction workers. But they are doing an awesome job and pretty quickly.
