Gimlin tourney offers plenty for all
The Dru Gimlin 3-on-3 Basketball tournament bounces into downtown Quincy this Saturday.
The fifth annual basketball tournament is named after Quincy High School standout basketball player Dru Gimlin, who died in an automobile accident five years ago. He was admired and loved by many, which prompted the formation of the Dru Gimlin Foundation, which helps support local athletes in need of athletic-related assistance.
The tournament takes up the entire downtown area and offers plenty of basketball, food and entertainment for the whole family. There will be a street chalk contest, sno-cones and many more things available throughout the day. The basketball games begin at 8 a.m. and run until all games are played.
