Ray Robinson is the owner of Time Out Pizza in Quincy and is also moving to the community this month.

Many know Ray Robinson, who has been the friendly face of Time Out Pizza for the past nine years.

He grew up in the small town of Rainier and has now begun to set down roots here in Quincy. Robinson feels comfortable here in the familiar small-town atmosphere.

“I graduated in a class of 24 students,” said Robinson.

After high school, Robinson set forth on his first adventure, as a missionary for his church. He was sent to the area of Manchester, England, and spent time in Wales, but found it hard to understand the Welsh language. Robinson served his church in seven areas in the United Kingdom, including Moss Side, which has the highest crime rate in the region.

“There are all kinds of cultures there: Scotch-Irish, Jamaican, Nigerian, Bolivian, Asian, Ethiopian, Hindu and Asian all compressed in one area,” said Robinson.

As a young man fresh out of school, he enjoyed traveling and admiring the architecture of the old castles and cathedrals. Robinson remembers the rolling hills and slate rock boundaries around the farms in England and Wales.

“In the two years I was there, I never had a steak. There were a lot of regulations regarding the meat back then, so that may be why,” he remarked.

Eventually he came back from his mission and met his wife, Rachel. This month they will have been married 15 years.

They have four children ranging in ages from 13 on down to 6.

Also this month, Robinson and his family are planning to move to the Quincy area after commuting from Ephrata for all these years while running Time Out Pizza.

When not making pizzas or grilling burgers, Robinson enjoys spending time with his family. They enjoy outdoor activities, such as camping and 4-wheeling. Robinson feels blessed to be in Quincy community. He likes the small-town mentality and has found a lot of good-hearted people here.

“The people here are amazing,” he said. “ They are accepting and have treated my family well,” he said.
