Heroes of Serenity
Ruben Martinez and niece Serenity.
Dear Editor,
I want to take a moment to also thank the people who helped my niece after the horrific nearly tragic accident that occurred on Saturday afternoon in the Tacoma Dome.
Clint Webley from Quincy and Matt Jorgensen, coach of the three-time state champions from Deer Park, I will hold both of you in my heart forever, along with those other gentlemen and women who were there quickly to comfort and give immediate medical care to my little precious angel, Serenity. They were the guardian angels that my little niece needed. I am not quite sure why this occurred during this important event and for the first time most of my family was there to watch my team perform and watching me get my state coaching award. I have always believed that wrestling is a family oriented sport and this must be another reason why this occurred during this time. I, along with my family, especially my niece and her baby, gained more people that we can add to our family. Clint and Matt, I knew that as soon as I saw both of you there tending to my little niece that everything was going to be all right. Your words of support and encouragement that she was okay both during the incident and afterward gave me the ability to continue doing my job. I don’t know if I could have continued up until that point that I spoke to both of you. My family and I, and the members of my wrestling team want to make sure that you know that you are both heroes and we wish nothing but the best for both of you. My niece is doing well, she was back home Sunday evening. She now has a few more important members that we hold in the highest pedestal of our lives.

Thank you and God Bless you,
Ruben Martinez
