A high tech way to do homework
When High Tech High students need to do math homework, they no longer have to lug a heavy textbook home. They can now log on to any computer with Internet access and do the same assignment online.
When the Quincy School District purchased new textbooks for high-school level math, they also received access to a website that has the contents of the books.
“Students now have the choice of taking a textbook home or doing it online, it’s the same assignment either way,” said HTH math instructor John Hildenbrand.
Student Luis Paniagua said he prefers using the website because the lessons are more interactive and he doesn’t have to carry a textbook. Others feel differently.
“Believe it or not, some students actually prefer working out of the book,” said HTH principal Garry Stidman.
