In our opinion...
Quincy residents have an opportunity to serve those who have gone on before us this Saturday, May 17.
The annual Quincy Cemetery Clean-up is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There is much that needs to be done and the more people who can do it, the better.
Some of the things to do include edging the grass around headstones, sweeping the headstones free of grass clippings and polishing the headstones with furniture cleaner, as well as some other specific duties.
Not everyone can stay for the whole four hours of the event, but even 30 minutes of work would help to improve and maintain the appearance of the final resting place for many of our loved ones. The cemetery truly is hallowed ground. And the condition of our cemetery reflects the level of respect and appreciation that we have for those who rest there.
We all know people who are buried in the cemetery.
It is certainly worth taking a few minutes from our busy schedules to make sure that their resting place is well-maintained.
Those who do participate in the event on Saturday will no doubt come away with a deeper feeling and respect for their loved ones who have passed and the community they helped build.
