The Jacks basketball team has hit a skid after opening their CWAC campaign with a pair of home wins.

Since those early December wins, Quincy (2-7) has lost seven straight games - three at home, three away and one at a neutral site.

The latest three losses were at home to Wapato (4-2) and Ellensburg (6-1) and away at East Valley (1-6).

The Jacks tried to keep pace with the top team in the CWAC, but were unable to capitalize down the stretch.

At the half, Ellensburg owned just a 22-21 lead, but the third quarter gave the visitors the edge going into the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs took a 37-30 lead and made 6-of-6 free throws in the frame to seal the win.

Mario Figueroa (13 points) and Jacob Durfee (11points, seven rebounds) led the Jacks in scoring. Gerardo Aragon gave the Jacks five rebounds, four assists and took two charges.

Wapato 76, Quincy 44

You could say Friday night's game was over in minutes. The Wolves came out firing on all cylinders, sinking 10 3-pointers in the first half.

Trevor Shavehead (26 points) and Shawn Craig (18 points) alone scored as much as the Jacks all game.

Wapato had a 28-8 lead in the first quarter and built that into a 42-18 lead by the half.

Quincy was led by Braulio Flores (seven points, eight rebounds) and Aragon (three points, five rebounds).

East Valley 43, Quincy 37
