Kleyn wins pair of ERP main events
The biggest Ephrata Raceway Park crowd of the year was treated to a giant fireworks show and saw three amazing stunts from the Mr. Dizzy Stunt Team and a pair of main event victories from Mitch Kleyn.
First Mr. Dizzy drove his stunt car off the ramps and into a three-car domino pile, then Mr. Dizzy and Son loaded themselves into a car and blew it up with both emerging from the inferno on fire and finally the Crusher drove his car through a pyramid of six cars and landed on a seventh vehicle, while the cars exploded behind.
In the Super Stock class Brad Morrison set fast time with a 15.668 and won the heat race. Robert Kirk won the Trophy Dash and Kleyn wasted no time in the main event, getting out to an early lead and holding the top spot for all 15 laps and the checkered flag.
In the Pepsi Cola Street Stock division Morrison set fast time again with a 15.812, while Terry Osborn and Skyler Leseman won the trophy dashes and Leseman and Kyle Childress won the heat races. After Osborn led the first lap of the main event, Childress and JR Stratfull got together coming out of turn four, bringing out the yellow flag. On the restart, Kleyn took over the lead and led the rest of the way for the Main Event win.
The next race at Ephrata Raceway Park is Mid Season Championships for Super Stocks, Pepsi Cola Street Stocks, 7-Up 360 Sprints, Schaeffer Oil Mini Stocks, Ephrata Pioneer Muffler II Pure Stocks, and the Kim Janke State Farm Agent Youth Hornets.
