But Quincy’s defense led to several steals and an 8-0 run to pull within 30-25 at the four and a half-minute mark of the final quarter. Davis had a pair of baskets, while Candice Snyder and Talley each added their own bucket.
“Defensively, we are getting a lot better and we are challenging shots,” coach Cully Donovan said.
But Grandview closed out the game on a 17-1 run. In that span, Quincy made just one of three free throws, missed eight free throws and did not make any three-pointers. On the flipside, the Lady Greyhounds made five 3-pointers.

“We got off to an 11-0 start, which included two, 3-point baskets by Madison,” Donovan said. “The defense was great, challenging every shot Othello took.”

“We shot the ball a lot better from the floor and free throw line,” Donovan said. “It was a good team effort.”
