Library fund-raiser to be held Saturday
The latest social event at Parties on the Green at Twin Firs Turf in Quincy will benefit the Quincy Valley Library Foundation’s fund-raising efforts for the city’s new library.
Beers, Brauts, Bonfire & Band will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Oct. 24.
The event will kick off with a social hour, and later chili, brauts and other food items will be available for purchase.

A wine and beer garden will also be open. At 7 p.m., Straight Shots, a local classic rock and roll band, will take the stage to perform.
Admission is $10 per person. Children 12 years and younger will be admitted for no charge. All proceeds from the event will go toward the construction of Quincy’s new library building, on the corner of Central Avenue South and C Street Southeast
The new library, designed by Brad Brisbane of the Wenatchee-based firm of M J Neal Associates, will nearly triple the size and offerings of the current library.
“I am also trying to tie this with Arnold Ybarra’s 50th birthday,” said library employee Schiree Ybarra.
“That day is his actual birthday and he has promised to attend this event so we can all help celebrate his birthday with him.”
