Jackpot gas station, convenience store and deli is hosting a grand re-opening this weekend to unveil the new look accomplished during its recent remodel.

20 years ago: June 21, 1990
Quincy Valley Hospital will host a grand opening party Saturday. New facilities include the Convalescent Center, remodeled hospital and medical clinic. Tours of all these facilities will be open to the public.
30 years ago: June 19, 1980
The Quincy FFA chapter placed fourth in the regional parliamentary procedure contest in Pullman last week. Members of the team were Marty Johnson, Heidi Schorzman, Richard Ottley, Terry Schwint, Dan Dobler and Terry Nash.

Assistant Scoutmaster Howard Randolph took six Scouts on an overnight trip to Buffalo Lake last weekend. Scouts included John Vickery, Jesse Agripino, Kevin Randolph, Bill Doerr, Danny Harshman and John Butler.

O. A. Brown, 40-year Quincy resident, helped remove part of the board sidewalks which the city council ordered taken out to facilitate construction of curbs and gutters in the city's downtown area.
The grand openings of Central Market, offering a complete line of meat and food items, and Crow's Quincy Furniture, offering Quincy its first complete stock of home furnishings, will be this weekend.
