Quincy Business and Professional Women's Club officers were installed Monday night at a meeting at the Quincy Senior Center. They are Julie Hurt, recording secretary; Carol Butt, corresponding secretary; Ida Focht, treasurer pro tem for Meta Pickett; Leona Ellis, second vice-president; Suzanne Gregory, first vice-president; Garna Flowers, president; and Lydia Westover, installing officer.

Roughneck is the term conferred on contestants in the beard contest for the Q-Bar Festirama. The Jaycees will be selling Roughneck and Dude buttons at local area businesses. Those qualifying as a roughneck must wear sideburns below their earlobes or some other type of facial hair.

Lloyd Andrews, candidate for governor of Washington, poured a cup of coffee for Sid Flanagan, 13th District representative.

Members of the Quincy volunteer fire department inspected the new 2-ton 1949 Chevrolet fire truck this week. It is the district's newest equipment addition. Custom built in Wenatchee, the new truck boasts the latest advancements in firefighting apparatus.
