Looking for winter break ideas?

You are in luck if you are a QHS alumni or you have a youngster who loves to wrestle. With the holiday break on on the horizon, there will be a few local happenings in the sports world.

Dec. 20 - Wrestling clinic

The 3rd Annual Wrestling Christmas Clinic is slated for Dec. 20 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the QHS wrestling room behind the high school. The free clinic is open to all students from kindergarten to sixth-grade. The clinic will have the Quincy High School wrestlers and coaches on hand to review and develop wrestling skills. The campers will get one-on-one instruction.

The campers will be released at 11 or they can stay in the wrestling room from 11 to 11:45 a.m. to watch the high school team practice.

Dec. 21 - CWAC hoops

For those willing to put in a small travel time to Wenatchee, the QHS varsity basketball teams will be hitting the ice Dec. 21. Well, they will be hitting the hardwood basketball court, which will be sitting atop the Town Toyota Center ice rink. Quincy will face off with Ephrata for a Central Washington Athletic Conference league game. The girls tip off at 4:30 and the boys will follow at 6 p.m.

Dec. 23 - Alumni basketball

The annual QHS Alumni Basketball game is set for Dec. 23 at 4 p.m at the main high school gym. The games are open to QHS alumni and longtime residents of Quincy.
