Making a return on education (2)
Crystal Pedregon works as a para-educator for the Quincy School District.
Crystal (Vargas) Pedregon was born to Maria and Francisco Vargas, who came to Quincy long ago to find work in the area. She joined her older brother, Francisco, and sister, Jessica, as the youngest of their three children. She went to Quincy High School and was active in sports.
“I played volleyball, basketball and softball,” said Pedregon.
One of her proudest moments was helping to take the Jacks to the state volleyball tournament in 2003.

Pedregon met and married her husband, Agustin, in her senior year, and had her daughter, Brianna. Through all of the challenges, she managed to continue on and get her Associate of Arts degree from Wenatchee Valley College. She came to work for the Quincy School District in 2005, and by this time, she also had her little boy, Alfonso. She was hired as a full-time para-educator, and for four years she also tutored and worked for the 21st Century afterschool program at Monument Elementary.
In 2006, she started coaching girls softball for eighth grade at Quincy Junior High, and still enjoys doing it.
Adding to the family, Pedregon’s son, Kaeden, came in 2010, and daughter, Olivia Mae, blessed the family in August 2011.
“Kaeden loves shopping. If I ask him if he wants to go shopping with mom, he stands right by the door,” said Pedregon.
Her son also enjoys going with her to support his dad, Agustin, in his 3-on-3 basketball tournaments.
Among other things, Pedregon enjoys shopping, camping on Lake Wenatchee and fishing from pontoon boats at Fish Lake. She likes that Quincy is centrally located and just a short trip to Wenatchee and Moses Lake.
