Matt Kazda
Matt Kazda, 91, a former Quincy resident, passed away Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010 at the Coventry House Assisted Living in Othello.
He was born Oct. 12, 1918 to Mathew and Barbara (Lisa) Kazda at Southwick, Idaho. He grew up and attended and graduated from Southwick High School.
Matt enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces in 1941, serving until his honorable discharge in 1945 as an airplane mechanic.

Following his discharge, he attended barber school in Spokane. He married Mary Cosgrave in 1949 in Lewiston, Idaho. They moved to the Quincy area in 1958, where Matt owned and operated a barber shop. Mary preceded him in death in 1993.
Matt retired in the late 1990s. He moved to Moses Lake, then for the past four years had resided at the Coventry House Assisted Living in Othello.
At Matt's request there will be no services. Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy is in charge of cremation arrangements.
