Theresa (Vogt) Waldron

Theresa Marie (Vogt) Waldron was born on March 5, 1922 in Tillamook, Ore. to Erhardt and Theresa Vogt and she passed away on July 28, 2011 at the Quincy Valley Medical Center due to a massive stroke, at the age of 89. She attended schools in the Tillamook area and met her husband of 67 years there. They were married Nov. 26, 1943.

They began their married life as dairy farmers in Tillamook, and during those eight years, two children were born, Cecil Edward and Glenys Theresa. Due to a farming accident, they relocated to Beaverton, Ore. and Cecil began a new career as a machinist. Theresa was an inspirational support during these trying times for Cecil.

Theresa was a wonderful stay-at-home mother until her two children entered school, then she began working first as a nanny for a wonderful school teacher and then she pursued a 20-year career with the Beaverton School District, first working 10 years in the food service department and then 10 years in the laundry, working the big washers and dryers at Aloha High Schools.

She always supported her husband's love to be a hobby farmer and they remained on their 10-acre farm until their retirement. She was a great support to her children as they pursued their love of 4-H and athletic activities. She continued to support the local high schools even after her children left home.

They moved to the Quincy area in the fall of 2007 and most recently were happy residents of The Cambridge assisted living in Quincy.

She had the ability to generate great friendships with people and many to this day remark on her caring and practical joking spirit. Her love of Swiss music and her love for dance were her greatest joys and when her husband, family and friends joined her that made her wishes come true.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil C. Waldron of Quincy; son, Cecil Edward (Sandy) Waldron of Arizona; daughter, Glenys (Tony) Stadelman of George; sister, Lillian Jacobs of Richland; grandchildren Elizabeth (Tony) Murray, Scott (Karina), Christopher (Kristin), Sharon (Joseph) Bunker, John (friend Trini), Stan (Rya), Karrie and Wylie. Great-grandchildren, Clayton, Sasha, Emmeline, Nicholas and Isabella, step-grandchildren, J.R., Kaleb, Kyra, Wyatt, Karen and Taylor and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Holy Rosary will be said on Thursday evening Aug. 4, 2011 at 7 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church and a memorial funeral Mass will be said on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 at 1 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Quincy.
