Phyllis Schwint

Phyllis K. Schwint, 85, a resident of Quincy since January of 1965, passed away July 24, 2011 at her home. She went peacefully, with her son, Rodney L. Schwint, and daughters Jean R. Hernandez and Helen L. Myrick by her side.

Phyllis was born Aug. 5, 1925 in Ephraim, Utah to Louis Francis and Helen Louise (Lindberg) Anderson. She was raised and graduated from school in Boise, Idaho. This is where she started her career as a bookkeeper.

In 1946, she married Ben R. Smith in Boise, Idaho. They had two daughters, Jean and Helen.

In 1965, Phyllis moved to Quincy along with her two daughters.

On Aug. 28, 1965 Phyllis married Leo G. Schwint. They made their home in Quincy, where Phyllis did the bookkeeping for the family farm until just a few years ago. They had one son, Rodney.

She is survived by her son and daughters previously mentioned, plus five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, her stepmother and her brother.

Memorial inurnment services will be held on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Quincy Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Phyllis and family have requested a donation be made to the American Breast Cancer Society.
