QHS hires three new head coaches
The wait is over for the three vacant head coaching positions at Quincy High School. Two of the three mentors are natives to the Valley and the third has family ties to the Basin.
Volleyball

Pam Young was chosen to replace Jeannie Brindle as the volleyball coach. Young, a 1982 QHS graduate, has been the assistant coach for Brindle for the past two years and is a coach in the little kids volleyball program – U12 Kamali’i. She currently works for Grant County Mental Healthcare in Quincy.
Wrestling
Greg Martinez replaces long-time head coach Manuel Ybarra as the wrestling coach. Martinez, a 1998 QHS graduate, was a four-year varsity wrestler with a career record of 94-28. He wrestled in college and now is a science teacher at QHS.
Football
Stephen Wallace will take over the football program from Terry Dion. Wallace was a physical education teacher at Bridgeport Elementary School and will come to QHS as a P.E. and weight training teacher. He coached the Bridgeport Mustangs football team to a 4-6 record this past season.
He has several family members living in the Basin.
The Quincy Valley Post-Register will feature stories on each of the three coaches in the following weeks.
