School briefs: April 16
Calendar correction
There was an error in the Quincy School District's school calendar for 2008-09. School will start on the regular late-start schedule on Monday, April 20.
NCESD wins grant
The North Central Educational Service District recently announced that the NCESD Math / Science Team was one of 10 successful recipients of a three-year $750,000 Math / Science Partnership Grant. NCESD assistant superintendent Cindy Duncan stated that the “grant provides an excellent opportunity for the North Central Educational Service District to provide long-term professional development opportunities (with little or no cost to the school districts) for math and science educators within our district.”
Volunteers needed
Community volunteers are needed to help judge over 100 senior projects at Quincy High School. The judging will take place on May 4, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Volunteers will meet in the school library, receive instructions and be assigned a room in which to hear presentations.
