Junior High names students of the month

Quincy Junior High Students of the Month for January and February were seventh-grade most improved, Bobbie Nadeau and Maribel Bustos; eighth-grade most improved Cody VanTuyl and Alejandra Velarde; seventh-grade academic Emilio Ybarra, Rebecca Chavez and Iri Moreno; eighth-grade academic, Elvia Evangelista and Gerardo Guzman; seventh-grade citizenship, Antonio Melendez, Jessica Sandoval and Anne Francis; and eighth-grade citizenship Jorge Armas, Brad Hemberry and Alexia Tapia.

ESD announces new board

The North Central ESD Board of Directors announces that the newly-formed NCESD Educational Foundation Board recently met to organize and elect officers. Elected officers include: Joan Acres (Moses Lake), Jan Cetto (East Wenatchee), president; Karen Rutherford (Wenatchee), president-elect; Darlene Brooks (Ephrata), secretary and Jack Schneider (Omak), treasurer. The NCESD Educational Foundation will assist districts in becoming more resourceful and successful through cooperative efforts and services. It will serve the 29 local districts in Douglas, Chelan, Okanogan and Grant counties.

George Starshine named

George Starshine students for March are kindergartners Rebekah Castro, Mayran Fernandez and Juliany Tapia; first-graders Ignacio Jimenez and Miguel Valle; second-graders Anahi Ramirez and Diana Ramirez; third-graders Miguel Ramirez, Luis Perez, Phillip Horning and Tanner Bushman; and fourth-graders Noemi Flores and Julio Ramirez.

Head Start registration open

The Washington State Migrant Council is currently registering children ages 1 month through 5 years old for the Head Start Program and other services. Children with disabilities are a top priority. For registration information, call the Quincy Child Development Center at 787-2511.
