Highlighters seek entries
The Highlighters Art Club will host the 2nd Annual Western Art Show May 22 through May 25 in Coulee City at 504 W. Main. Entry deadlines are May 16 and May 19. Entry forms are available at the Highlighters Art Club when artists bring in their work. Five entries are allowed, no larger than 42” x 62” including the frame. Oils, pastels, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, and photography are the categories. The event will be judged, with prize money involved. The Highlighters Art Club is a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization that awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors interested in the arts and sponsors a youth art show.
QJHS awards students
The recipients of the Junior High’s March Student of the Month awards were seventh-grade most improved, Miguel Tapia; eighth-grade most improved, Perla Gonzalez; seventh-grade academic, Alex Silvas; eighth-grade academic, Stephanie Aguilar; seventh-grade citizenship, Juan Reyes; and eighth-grade citizenship, Jessica Rosales.
