BBCC hosts college day
Big Bend will host the annual College Planning Day for High School Students on Thursday, March 26 from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Advanced Technologies Education Center (ATEC, building 1800) and the Business & Liberal Arts (building 1600). All high school students and their parents are invited to attend. Big Bend is hosting this event in partnership with the Washington Council for High School-College Relations. George Elementary Starshine students for February were kindergartners Cesar Hernandez and Nereida Hernandez; first-graders Jacqueline Torres and Melissa Ramirez; second-graders Jocelyn Tafoya and Adan Ramirez; third-graders Dallas Lindemeier, Sebastian Chavez, Jasmine Ramirez and Victor Tafoya and fourth-graders Jose De La Torre and Esmeralda Tafoya.

Mountain View Elementary Starshine students for February were kindergartners Yesenia Bonilla, D'Angelo Aguilar, Alvaro Villalobos, Omar Garcia, Areli Diaz, Nicole Lopez, Marisol Cardenas, Alejandra Rodriguez, Jacon Marquart, Savannarose Hernandez, Lorenzo Vargas, Jessica Lopez, Drake Harris, Brenda Morga, Jonathan Zafra, Miguel Nuno, Alexis Reyes, Gisselle Hernandez, Aldo Inguiz, Ashley Benetiz and Isaac Farias.

BBCC inducts students
More than 40 Big Bend Community College students were recently inducted into the Rho Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Phi Theta Kappa is the national honor society for two-year colleges and Rho Zeta is the BBCC chapter. To be invited to join, students must have earned a minimum of 12 credits with at least a 3.4 GPA. Quincy students inducted are Joie L. Chapman-Oswood and Christopher L. VanDyke.
