Art students win awards

Quincy High School students won five top awards at a statewide art contest, put on by The Haas Foundation.

The contest required students to make a work of art revolving around the theme of ‘parity.’ The Haas Foundation donates funds to schools around the state with a goal to provide equity to needy students. “At QHS, we use these funds for everything from equipment and costs associated with sports to buying glasses for students who cannot afford to go to the optometrist,” said art teacher Matthew Kimmel. “I’m so proud of these students for their academic efforts.”
