BBCC to hold info night
Big Bend Community College will be hosting its annual College and Financial Aid Information Night on Monday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Masto Conference Center of the Advanced Technologies Education Center (ATEC, building 1800).
All high school students and their parents are invited to attend.
WSU students earn top grades
Eric Biersner and Elizabeth Lemon, both Quincy High School graduates, have been named to the summer semester honor roll at Washington State University.
Kunkel earns PLU honor
Patrick Kunkel, a Quincy High School graduate, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring quarter at Pacific Lutheran University.
Kunkel is pursuing a degree in chemistry with a minor in biology.
Weber earns scholarship
Timothy Weber, a 2009 Quincy High School graduate, has been awarded a Presidential Scholarship for $2,000 to Eastern Washington University for the 2009-2010 academic year.
This scholarship is awarded to high school students with a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.8 or higher or an SAT score of at least 1,250.
Monument honors students
Monument Elementary School recently announced its Students of the Month for September.
Fourth-grade students are: Cody Benefiel, Ellen Chavez, Melissa Gonzales, Hannah Gonzalez, Yordi Coronel, Randy Hodges, Diego Lopez, Brandon Melburn, Maria Rodriguez, Devon Salcedo, Emmalee Taylor, Fatima Torres, Jerry Fregoso, Sandra Huezo, Gates Petersen, Alberto Rodriguez, Elvis Sanchez, Tyson Thornton and Trajan Trevino.
