Silvas leads Regulators
The Quincy Regulators, led by state champions Armando Hererra and Tim Silvas, capped their season with a handful of wrestlers qualifying for nationals in both freestyle and Greco Roman.
Silvas was a winner in both the Greco State Championships and the Freestyle State Championships, while Armando was a champion in freestyle.
Gabriel Martinez, Breck Webley and Hererra also qualified for the Greco national in Fargo, N.D. Martinez and Webley qualified for the freestyle nationals by taking second and third, respectively.
A trio of wrestlers qualified for the western regionals in Pocatello, Idaho. They were Keaton Webley, Gary Benitez and Justin Clifton.
Other tournament results:
East Valley (Spokane): Champions – Carlos Magana, Silvas. Fourth – Hererra and Manny Ybarra.
Chehalis: Champion – Silvas in both free and Greco.
Battleground: North Western Regionals: Silvas second in Greco and third in Freestyle.
Riverside: Champion: Silvas. Second: Hererra.
