Support for Flint
For the sake of full disclosure, my name is Robbie Robertson and I am a PUD Commissioner in Skagit County, WA. I am also the current Secretary/Treasurer for the Washington State Public Utilities Association; representing 27 individual PUD’s throughout the state, of which Grant County is a long time member. I also need to disclose that this letter is of my own volition and I have not been asked by any person in Grant County or elsewhere to write it.
I have had the opportunity to work with Tom Flint, your current Grant County PUD commissioner, for almost eight years now. In the time I have known Tom, I have found him to be a man of honesty and integrity, a man who has the ability to comprehend the very complex issues surrounding our energy needs, growth requirements and environmental concerns. He has the ability to present and debate them in very simple and understandable terms in order that even folks not directly involved in the utility environment can make well informed conclusions as to what is in the best interest of the community. In my dealings with Tom, I have come to know him as a very ardent and staunch defender of public utilities, public ownership, responsible environmental stewardship and the right of the people to make our own decisions about the future development and use of our resources in meeting the ever challenging demands for low cost hydro energy, as well as additional renewable energy resources such as wind, solar and bio-mass production, while at the same time protecting our environment for generations to come.
Grant County is well served by having a man like Tom Flint sitting as one of your PUD commissioners, The work done by Tom on a local and state level is helping to secure our energy needs and environmental preservation for generations to come. I would strongly urge all citizen’s of Grant County to re-elect Tom Flint as your PUD commissioner.
