Talley doubles up in losses
Marinda Talley does not seem to be affected by the competition late in the season. The senior put together back-to-back, double-double performances. Unfortunately, the Lady Jacks (2-12) lost both games to Toppenish (8-6) and Wapato (13-1).
The Lady Wildcats had a strong second half to trip up Quincy 44-37, while the Lady Wolves used a 20-point third quarter to defeat Quincy 58-39.

Wapato 58, Quincy 39
Talley posted 17 points and 16 rebounds in Wapato to lead all players. The Lady Jacks faced a 27-21 halftime deficit, but came out of the locker room against the second-best team in the league.
Wapato put up 20 points to Quincy’s four and grabbed a 47-25 lead.
Others: Kacie Reynolds scored six points and Candice Snyder added five points.
Toppenish 44, Quincy 37
It appeared the Lady Jacks were going for the upset in the opening two quarters after taking a 16-13 lead.
The Lady Wildcats were missing all their long range shots and Talley (18 points, 14 rebounds), Aurorah Davis (four points, six rebounds) and Snyder (nine points, four rebounds) were picking up all the defensive rebounds. But on the opposite end, Quincy was just 6-of-36 shooting.
"Just two girls made shots - Candice and Marinda,” coach Cully Donovan said. “The rest were free throws.”
In the second half, Quincy struggled to keep up with the pressure of the Toppenish defense and to make it even harder, point guard Sarah Horning was on the bench with multiple fouls. Toppenish took a 29-24 lead.
“Our point guard was in foul trouble and against a team like that (it’s even worse),” Donovan said.
The Lady Jacks tried to match the Lady Wildcats in the fourth, but fell short in a 44-37 loss.
