Thanks Claws & Paws
I feel the need to make a few comments regarding the animal shelter and the Claws & Paws organization.
First, I want to say THANK YOU to ALL of the volunteers who have donated their time and/or money to improve the shelter and help the animals. I, too, have volunteered at the shelter and for C & P in the past — watering and feeding, helping with adoptions, fostering cats in my home, bottle-feeding kittens, taking cats to the vet and cleaning the shelter. I know personally how much work was and is needed. Although very rewarding for an animal lover, sometimes it was a crappy job. (Yes, a pun was intended.) I would like to propose a question for Officer Ackerman. “If he thought the sanitation level at the shelter was horrendous, how many hours did he donate to clean it?” And last, even though Gayla Petersen was not personally named for theft and fraud, I would like to make a comment in her defense being her name was the only volunteer mentioned in last week’s shelter article.
I know Gayla to be an extremely honest person and have witnessed the time and work she has donated to the shelter and Claws & Paws. I want the community to know she is a person of great integrity.
