QHS athletes competing in college

Several former Quincy High School athletes had success this spring as part of college squads.
Colby Melburn, a 2008 QHS grad, had a decent sophomore season as part of the Walla Walla Community College baseball team. The outfielder hit .276 with 10 runs batted in and a .359 on-base percentage.
Martin Aguirre was one of the Community College of Spokane's top pitchers this season. The right-handed sophomore pitched 62 2/3 innings and went 4-2 with a 2.45 earned run average and 31 strikeouts and 28 walks.
Lesa Hearst played in 40 games with the Big Bend Community College softball team and batted .192.
Jared Reyes just completed his sophomore season as a member of the University of Great Falls (Mont.) men's cross country and track and field team.
