Hastings opposes auto bailout
Dec. 24, 2008 - In recent weeks, Congress has debated a taxpayer-funded bailout for the Big Three auto manufacturers. Lions work to cure blindness
Nov. 13, 2008 - Lions International has had a Diabetes Awareness program since 1984 because diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness among people between the ages of 20 and 74. Curing preventable blindness is a major Lions mission ever since Helen Keller challenged the Lions in 1925 to become “Knights of the Blind.”
Thank you, Class of 1958
Nov. 06, 2008 - On behalf of the students of Quincy High School, I want to thank you, the Class of 1958, for your generous contribution of $1,082 to the QHS Haas Fund. As the QHS coordinator for the Saul & Dayee G. Haas Foundation fund, I see students in need of financial assistance every day. The Haas Fund allows me to help these students stay focused on education and to participate in school and community learning activities. As costs go up for activities associated with education, the cost to the student and family can put many activities out of reach. With your donation, you have helped me reach more than 40 students I would not have been able to otherwise help.
