Bob Lenz makes return trip to QHS

March 10, 2011 - As a special senior project, QHS senior Luke Grigg, along with Ashley Stetner, are bringing inspirational speaker Bob Lenz to town Friday, March 11. “This will be the fourth time we have brought him here. My brother, Clark, started it. My sister, Holly, brought him here two years running. Last year’s engagement drew 500 or 600 people,” he said. Grigg is excited to finally see the fruits of his labor at the end of this week. He has been busy putting up flyers and organizing. “My sister, Holly, will be performing, and there will also be an artistic competition during the event. Free pizza will be provided by Time Out Pizza here in Quincy,” said Grigg. The most important aspect of the project as Grigg sees it is the outreach to teens that Lenz offers. Bob Lenz covers the gamut of subjects, from teen pregnancy to low self-image. Grigg mentioned that Lenz has spoken to over 350,000 teens, and is very entertaining, weaving comic relief in between the more serious topics. The event has been publicized on 89.9 KPLW Positive Life Radio in Wenatchee. It will take place on Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m. in the Quincy High School gymnasium, and all are welcome to attend and admission is free. For those who would like to further get involved in the teen outreach that Mr. Lentz offers, there will be an informational meeting tonight at Zack’s Pizza starting at 6:30 p.m.
