ERP hosts all-age motocross under the lights

June 26, 2008 - For the first time in Ephrata Raceway Park’s history, motocross riders attacked the woops and berms under the bright lights. Race fans witnessed rooster tails and big air from the more experienced riders However, the beginners, some as young as 4 years old, also drew applause from the crowd. Riders on motorcycles and quads (four-wheelers) from throughout the Columbia Basin took part in dirt spewing action.

June 26, 2008 - The Quincy 10-year-old All-Star team opened the summer session with an even two wins and two losses.

June 19, 2008 - The Fourth Annual Haerling Memorial Co-Ed Softball Tournament was also the final tournament. The Haerling family put together the tournament in memory of Patricia Haerling, who died in an automobile accident in 2005.

Movin' up!

June 19, 2008 - The Columbia Basin United 94 U14 girls soccer team, coached by Gary Klepec of Ephrata, qualified for P1 in the Washington State Premier League. This is the highest level of competition available through Washington State Youth Soccer. The team is coming off of a quarterfinal appearance in the Washington State Challenge Cup and winning the Washington State U13 Premier G&W League.

Margenson wins WMRA 35-lap main

June 19, 2008 - WMRA point leader Evan Margeson won the 35-lap feature at Ephrata Raceway Park during the Sage N Sun Festival annual race. Also picking up wins were Dallas White in the Kim Janke State Farm Agent Youth Hornet divsion and Mike Fought in the 360 Sprint Cars.

Leaders abound at ERP over weekend, only five win

June 12, 2008 - On a night where 30-mile-an-hour winds blew across the racetrack, it was the number of lap leaders on the five class card that impressed race fans at Ephrata Raceway Park. ?Fifty-seven competitors checked in for this night of racing. In the five different main events run Saturday night, in 105 laps of main event action, there were 14 different race leaders. A lot of passing means a lot of great racing on the high banked quarter mile asphalt oval.

June 12, 2008 - There were 26 members at the Kickoff Breakfast June 7 at the new C-7 Cafe in the clubhouse and 22 golfers played a scramble on the golf course.

QHS athletes honored for efforts

June 05, 2008 - Quincy High School was well represented on the CWAC All-League teams. The soccer program garnered six players, while baseball had three and fastpitch picked up two players.
