JOB ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION OPEN: Finance Administrative Assistant CLOSING DATE: January 25, 2021 at 4:00 pm SALARY: $65,417.00 annually POSITION OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative office support functions within the Finance and Administration department(s) of the City, with little supervision and a significant amount of responsibility and accountability. This position requires knowledge of procedures, practices and terminology utilized within these departments, including the familiarity with public records, business administration, organizational and operational practices, analysis, and public relations. Work must be executed in a timely manner with professionalism, confidentiality, minimal supervision, and independent judgment. This position is non-union and excluded under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The individual occupying this position reports directly to the Finance Officer/City Clerk and indirectly to the Executive Assistant and the City Mayor. The individual will exercise control over specific assigned administrative tasks and decisions as delegated by the Finance Officer/City Clerk or Executive Assistant and provide support for the Finance. QUALIFICATIONS: • High School diploma and/or equivalent required. • Knowledge and experience with the Public Records Act desirable, but not required. • Bi-lingual English/Spanish desirable, but not required. • Two (2) years or more of progressively responsible related experience; experience in a position of comparable scope and size to the City of Quincy highly desirable. • Equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the necessary and required knowledge, skills and abilities. • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. • Strong interpersonal relations skills. • Computer literacy and ability to properly operate a wide variety of office equipment. • Ability to perform job tasks with minimum supervision, displaying initiative and sound judgment. • Ability to plan, organize, research and otherwise successfully accomplish assigned administrative projects. • Acceptable past employment performance and work history, and relevant leadership, interpersonal and decision-making skills. • Current and valid Washington State driver’s license with acceptable driving record. • Must be bondable and maintain status continuously throughout employment with the City. • Successfully pass pre-employment criminal background reports and drug and alcohol screening.
