The Fourth of July holiday brings the welcomed commemoration of our nation’s independence with family, friends, and community citizens. It may also include the unwelcomed disregard for our neighbors and pets with the discharge of illegal fireworks and after-hour excessive noise. While we desire for everyone to enjoy themselves in all the traditional ways with picnics, games, and patriotic festivities (within the guidelines of masking and social distancing); we also ask for celebrants to be respectful of their neighbors and refrain from the unlawful discharge of aerial fireworks that pose serious fire hazards and the late-night sound of explosives that disturb animals and citizens who are unaccustomed to the noise. Please refer to the Chief’s Corner for the times and dates allowed for the purchase and discharge of fireworks within City limits. Let’s make this year’s 4th of July holiday pleasurable for everyone and show due consideration for your neighbor’s safety and well-being. God bless America. Thank you.
