Russ Harrington, recreation director, brought up the topic of the opening of the city pool at the Quincy City Council meeting on March 16.

Harrington brought up the conversation looking for approval from the council, to move forward with plans and steps to start the process of preparing the facility for use. The preparation includes ordering supplies, hiring and training staff, any work needed to repair the pool and planning for the new changes that will need to be implemented due to COVID-19 guidelines.

Harrington also mentioned that fees may change for the 2021 summer season, partly due to the extra cleaning supplies and personal protection equipment that will have to be implemented to meet COVID-19 guidelines for opening.

There were no objections heard from the city council.
