The Grant County Health district reported two COVID-19 associated deaths in the last week; the seventh and eighth in the county.
The first, reported on July 9, was a man in his 70s from Moses Lake. The second, reported on July 13, was a man in his 50s from Mattawa. The Mattawa man died in his home and the health district determined the infection was likely acquired by community transmission.
The cumulative number of cases jumped up to 858 in the county as of July 13, up from 691 on July 6. In total, 11 people are hospitalized as of July 6, and 345 individuals have recovered.
Moses Lake remains the most infected area in the county with 236 cases as of July 13, followed by the Mattawa area with 209 and the Quincy area with 205.
