Quincy High School senior Eduardo Diaz has been honored with the Award of Merit from the North Central Educational Services District (NCESD) and Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA).

The awards were announced on May 27, and the Quincy School Board congratulated Diaz during its board meeting the same day. Diaz serves on the school board as the senior student board representative.

“Thank you guys so much, it truly means a lot to me,” Diaz said with a smile during the virtual Zoom meeting last week. He also received a plaque to commemorate the award.

The Award of Merit is given to students in the region who demonstrate effective leadership and have made significant contributions to WASA through their work in education, according to a press release from the NCESD.

The region includes school districts in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan counties.
