Football season is kicking off in Quincy for kids of all ages.

The Junior Jacks Football Camp recently saw 34 kids from grades 3-8 at Jackrabbit Stadium. The camp ran for one hour each day July 26-28 and was coached by the Quincy High School football coaches, high school players and Quincy Grid Kids Football coaches. The camp advertised that kids would learn to play football the Quincy Jackrabbit way and have fun. They plan to have a Junior Jacks Football Camp again next summer.

The camp was a great way to get kids interested in Quincy Grid Kids Football which is scheduled to start Aug. 9 for grades 3-6.

According to the Quincy Grid Kids Football Facebook page, Quincy Grid Kids Football was established in the fall of 2006 by Juan Villapando with the help of local parents and friends. Quincy Grid Kids Football is run by Vice president Benji Medina and coaches Mike Medrano, Gabe Lopez, Dan Gates and Gabriel Martinez.

Quincy Grid Kids Football is also looking for coaches to help with this year’s season.

For more information visit Quincy Grid Kids Football on Facebook or contact Villapando at 509-750-0052.

The high school football team is scheduled to begin practicing Aug. 18 and school starts Sept.1.
