The Quincy Lady Jacks girls basketball squad fell to Omak 52-46 on June 3.

From the tipoff, it seemed like victory was imminent for Omak. They not only got possession of the ball first, but they also scored first. Despite a rough first half, the Lady Jacks were not ready to give up that quickly. Even though they did fall short to Omak, the Lady Jacks put up a fight the last half that had victory almost in reach.

The first half was not very hopeful for the Lady Jacks. They managed to score only five points, trailing behind Omak’s score of 13 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter Quincy was still behind, ending the second quarter 12-22. Emilee Morris, Joceline Schaapman, Jane Kennedy, Ruth Flores and Emily Wurl all contributed to the score during the first half.

The third quarter is when Quincy kicked into high gear and scored 14 points bringing the end of the third quarter to 26-29. Seven of those 14 points came from Wurl.

The Lady Jacks battled through the final quarter but were not able to overcome Omak. Quincy scored 20 additional points during the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough as the game ended in a 46-52 loss.
