A Quincy teen was arrested for residential burglary on Feb. 8 after MACC 911 received a call from a Soap Lake resident that a person was trying to force their way into the back door of their residence.

Grant County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, officers of the City of Ephrata Government and Soap Lake Police Department responded to the 400 block of Road 19 Northeast in Soap Lake.

Due to law enforcement officers already in the area at the time, they were on scene within minutes and saw a small passenger vehicle leaving the area. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants detained as the remaining deputies checked on the residence and its occupant.

As a result of the great teamwork, they were able to connect the 17 year old male passenger of the vehicle to the burglary of the residence, according to the release on Feb. 9. There was an adult female who was driving the vehicle and is not currently being charged at this time.

The homeowner was not able to identify the subject; however, there is evidence connecting the juvenile to the burglary.

The Quincy teen has been booked into the Grant County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of residential burglary.
