Girls Wrestling

Seven of eight QHS girl wrestlers participated in the Mix n’ Match at Ephrata High School on June 10.

Xochitl Tafoya, senior team captian, went 3-0 at the tournament and has only lost one match all season.

Junior team captain Gloria Ramirez was 3-0 as well.

Freshman Michelle Acevedo was 2-1 at the tournament after defeating two Sunnyside opponents but falling to an Ephrata opponent.

Girls Wrestling Coach Devan Silva described that “the athletes were firing on all cylinders” at the mix and match and said he was very proud of their performances and hard work they have put in this year.

Team scores were not recorded for this event.

Swimming competes at Eastmont

All five QHS swimmers participated in the swim meet at Eastmont on June 10. Sophomore Trenten Calloway, sophomore Rami Escure, freshman Robert Bensch, sophomore Lucien Roseburg and junior Wyatt VanDerMerwe all competed in various events.

Boys beat Omak for second time

QHS boys basketball went head to head with Omak on June 14. Quincy came out on top 59-47.
