Four Jacks receive All-Conference wrestling honors

The Caribou Trail League announced their 2021 All-Conference teams and honorable mentions on June 18. Four QHS boys wrestlers were selected.

Israel Perez was selected for First Team, Christian Avila was selected for Second Team and Adiel Sandoval and David Medina received honorable mentions.

Girls Basketball falls to Ephrata, trumps Cascade

On June 16, the Lady Jacks battled hard against Ephrata but ultimately lost.. Each of the four quarters, Quincy was barely trailing behind the Tigers. At the end of the second quarter, the Lady Jacks even had a short lead of one point. Despite being only behind by two points going into the fourth quarter, Quincy could not keep up with Ephrata, eventually falling 35-44.

On Saturday, the Lady Jacks played Cascade and came out on top 39-22.

Their final record was 3-9 overall and 2-8 in the conference.

On June 21, the 2021 Caribou Trail League All-League teams and honors were announced. Junior Emily Wurl made First Team All-League and Senior Jane Kennedy made Second Team All-League.

Wrestlers finish top five at regional final

Four Jacks placed top five in the North Central Regional culminating event.

Junior Israel Perez placed first in his weight bracket of 126. He beat a Tonasket opponent 5-1 and beat a Warden opponent 9-7.

Christian Avila, sophomore, placed third after beating three opponents out of four in his weight class of 195. Two of those victories were achieved with pins at 1:39 and 2:11.

Sophomore David Medina placed fourth after four total matches. He came out 2-2, both victories being pins at 6:00 and 1:26. Medina wrestled at 220 lbs.

Adiel Sandoval placed fourth as well in his weight bracket of 132. The sophomore wrestler finished 1-2 in the event. His one victory being a pin at 2:13.
