Jacks tennis earn wins over Chelan

Chelan came to Quincy on April 28 to battle on the tennis courts.

The boys had one win and four losses. The boy’s win came from Tim Bensch who won his match 7-5 and 6-1.

The girls team had four wins and one loss. Three girls won their matches on forfeits and girls doubles Karen Morales and Rosorio Mora won their match. The individual set scores were 2-6, 6-1 and 6-3.

Fastpitch game cancelled

The Lady Jacks doubleheader on May 1 against Chelan was cancelled. They beat Chelan earlier in the season 26-8. Their current record is 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

Track and Field travels to Cashmere

April 28 the Jacks track and field team traveled to Cashmere for the league championship.

Some notable finishes include:

Three Jacks finished top 10 in the men’s discus; Reid Thomsen in 3rd, Sergio Castillo in 9th and Jose Marin in 10th.

Three first place finishes; Jalen Spence in the 100 meter dash and 300 meter hurdles, Aiden Heikes in the pole vault.

Junior Ecduy Gordillo placed 6th in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:16.91.

Two Lady Jacks finished top 10 in the discus; Kallie Kooistra took 8th and Guadalupe Valladolid took 10th.

Sophomore Joceline Schaapman placed 5th in the long jump with a distance of 13-07.00.

Two finished top 10 in the men’s long jump; Jalen Spence placed 3rd and Ethan Gregg placed 9th.

Freshman Jayden Richards finished 7th in the 100 meter dash and 4th in the 200 meters.

Sergio Cordova, junior, took 8th in the 200 meters.

Two Jacks also placed top 5 in the shot put; Junior Reid Thomsen took 3rd and senior Jose Marin took 5th.

Baseball falls to Cashmere

The Jacks battled Cashmere in a doubleheader on May 1 and lost both games.

The first game was 19-3 and the second was 12-0.

The team currently has an overall record of 2-7 and conference record of 1-5.
