Bryn Heikes is Quincy High School’s Class of 2020 Valedictorian. During her time at QHS, she participated in clubs such as DECA, where she was an officer, president and competed at the state competition. She also competed on the cross country and track teams as a captain and qualified for state competition multiple times.
“Bryn is the type of leader that leads by example. She holds herself to the highest standard and inspires the people around her to do the same,” said QHS marketing teacher Elizabeth Averill. “I look forward to seeing the career she will build for herself in marketing and the impact she will continue to make on those around her. I would like to thank Bryn for her inspiration, ideas, laughter and countless hours of dedication over the last four years to our club and classes.”
Heikes was also a band section leader, the ASB publicity manager, a member of the National Honors Society, and participated in Knowledge Bowl.
“Bryn is a phenomenal leader, student, and musician. She is someone I can always depend on to lead the drumline while I am working with the winds,” said QHS Director of Bands Patrick Gordon. “She will be greatly missed in our group!”
Heikes will be attending George Fox University in the fall in pursuit of a marketing degree. Her involvement in the DECA club led her to choose the field, she said.
“I chose George Fox because of its smaller class sizes and strong business program, and I loved their campus too,” Heikes said.
