Another new Quincy coffee stand opened its windows on Feb. 12 on the corner of B Street Southwest and Central Avenue South, just across from the Quincy Swim and Gym.

Whipped, owned by Pearl Lopez, exhibits over six years of hard work, dedication and persistence.

Lopez originally wanted to start her stand six years ago. Over those six years, numerous other location possibilities in Quincy fell through. Lopez was finally able to buy a small lot in an auction from the City of Quincy last year. She hoped to start in March, but the COVID-19 pandemic slowed the building process.

One of Lopez’s major goals was to make the business as inclusive as possible for the entire community. That included having her entire menu translated into spanish, hiring a full staff of bilingual baristas and offering more healthy options alongside the typical coffee stand offerings.

A big part of Whipped’s menu is healthy options such as power smoothies, chia pudding and overnight oats. The smoothies are made from fresh fruit that is prepared the night before and can have protein added to them. Thursdays only they will have protein doughnuts made by WA Strong Balance out of Wenatchee. They are gluten-free, low carb, low sugar and high in protein.

Lopez also makes breakfast items that are fresh each morning and made from scratch such as burritos and crescent sandwiches.

All food items are sold Monday through Friday until sold out for the day.

Whipped serves a medium roast coffee based out of Cle Elum, red bull drinks, italian sodas, espresso drinks and more.

Whipped Espresso is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
