Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the high school spring sports season has been postponed. The Post-Register would like to recognize the following senior athletes on the QHS soccer team who will not get to play their final season. Comments submitted by Head Francisco Tafoya.

Benjamin Bazan

Team experience: 4 years

Ben will be a tough player to replace a natural born leader. It’s hard to find a left footed defender and he has cemented his place as a starter in the last 3 years.

Roberto Corona

Team experience: 4 years

Robert a defender with tremendous speed. His cool attitude and composure on the field is something that I as a coach will miss.

Ezequiel Estrada

Team experience: 3 years

Zeke a very talented forward. A player with a great attitude and very coachable.

Hector Dominguez

Team experience: 4 years

Hector is a very gifted player that will be missed in the midfield not only for his skill but attitude as well.. His vision on the field and ability to connect play will be hard to replace.

Victor Estrada

Team experience: 1 year

Victor a true talent and strong spirited forward. He would have hoped that this was the year he showed the program the promising player he is.

Jose Lopez

Team experience: 3 years

Jose a dominant defender in the league. He’s a very talented defender that’s good on the ball and all-around great defender that will be extremely difficult to replace next year.

Josue Palacios

Team experience: 1 year

Josue was a pleasure to have with the program this year. He’s a good defender that has really come on this year to work his way onto the starting lineup of his team.

Edgar Plascencia

Team experience: 3 years

Edgar a very versatile player where ever his coaches ask him to play he’s up to the challenge. He brings a good attitude with him and a flair on the field that is fun to watch.

Osvaldo Romero

Team experience: 4 years

Ozzy has been a pleasure to watch over the years. As a coach it’s always great to see a player not only improve there game but their physicality as well. He is great on the ball and overall great teammate.
